We are increasingly asked to create study tours tailored to the strategic challenges of particular clients.

We have collaborated with a wide range of businesses –  in media, design, engineering, pharmaceuticals and sport – on some really interesting and important briefs. We prefer working with small, senior teams on very specific crunchy leadership and business challenges.

We do everything from shaping the brief, finding and curating relevant stimulus and provocation, designing the flow and timings of the study tours, hosting and facilitating, through to – if required – handling all logistics.

“Wavelength has increased my curiosity by 100x. We are looking at things far more open-mindedly. The way we look at launching new products will be different because of what Wavelength showed us – and how they showed us.” Angel Perez Agenjo, Senior Marketing Director, Europe & Canada, Eli Lilly

Case studies

Here are some examples of bespoke programmes we have created for our clients:

We ran a three-day event for the top 20 leaders of Eli Lilly’s European and Canadian business. The nut to crack was how should the business respond to the software and tech revolution and what was the opportunity for them to invest in and partner with start up entrepreneurs to enhance outcomes for patients – and could the leadership get aligned behind a shared purpose.

“The three day experience in London which Wavelength co-designed with us was excellent and met all my expectations. It is a big deal for us to take top 20 leaders out of the business for so long so it has all to be designed and executed really well. Wavelength delivered an inspiring and right on brief experience – mixing external stimulus and provocation – which aligned my team behind a clear plan of action.”
Andrew Hotchkiss, President Bio Medicines (Europe and Canada) who retained Wavelength for the work.

The Guardian News and Media Group: this global media business is undergoing radical change and facing existential threats as the digital media world mutates almost by the day. We have worked with the team overseeing the root and branch change in the business.

“Wavelength have really helped us get to grips with the challenges we face. Really timely and valuable intervention.”
Juliet Scott-Croxforth, Chief Delivery Officer and a member of the ExCo

Centrica asked us to create a leadership development programme for their senior team. The purpose was to not only develop the skills and insights of the participants, but also to build connectivity and trust amongst their ‘rising stars’. Themed around ‘Leadership and Innovation’, we demonstrated that inspiration and insight are more likely to be found outside of HQ, in places you might not expect – and took them from Brixton to NASA in Houston. The process concluded with idea pitches to the CEO and the board. As a direct result a £10m investment fund called Ignite was launched, with a focus on energy.

“Wavelength put together an amazing programme. A truly life-changing experience”
Lisa Minns, Director of Regulatory Affairs

What our clients say

“In November 2015 Wavelength organised and ran a week long tour to Silicon Valley for 25 of my senior leaders from around the world. Liam and his team organised a fantastic experience for us which has had a real impact in the thinking and practice of key leaders as we pivot into the digital space.

The preparatory work with the delegates was very thorough ensuring that the focus of the week was as relevant and useful as possible based upon the real needs and concerns of our business. Liam spoke to every one of [my] 25 people before we all met in San Francisco.

The choice of host companies and speakers was just right, a blend of large corporates and smaller start ups and accelerators and thought leaders. Not only did we gain deep insights into the subjects we were keen to learn about but we had a week long masterclass in innovation culture and leadership.

Liam is great at running the sessions. Logistics and everything worked super smooth. A transformational experience.”

UK-based engineering organisation

“A really fantastic three days. The access you created for us was something else and I loved the ways you mixed it up and challenged us. Not only did you really make us think but we came back with specific ways we can improve and develop our business practices.”

Geoff McDonald, Global VP, HR,
