Simon Calver

Simon was CEO of the online DVD and digital entertainment company, LOVEFiLM between 2006 and 2011 and led the merger of Video Island and LOVEFiLM to create the leading DVD and streaming platform in Europe. Under Simon’s guidance, LOVEFiLM was sold to Amazon Inc in 2011.

As CEO of Mothercare, Simon led their transformation and growth turnaround plan to huge success.

Simon is currently Chair of an online printing and design company and both advises and invests in technology and e-commerce businesses throughout the UK.

Simon previously worked in brands and marketing with Unilever and PepsiCo, in charge of the UK business launching Pepsi Max, Pepsi Blue and the development of the Pepsi Music activity. At PepsiCo he also moved to the USA as VP Sales Operations managing worldwide franchise partners and best practice sharing and lead the restructuring and reorganisation of the International franchise operations globally.

At Dell, Simon held the roles of GM and VP for Dell Home and Small Business operations based in Ireland and was also COO and President of Riverdeep, the interactive digital education company.

In 2010 he was a finalist of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and has completed a book on his experiences at LOVEFiLM called “Success the LOVEFiLM Way: How to Grow a Fast Growth Business in Fast Changing Times”.
